Information Technology – Cloud Computing – Data Specialist Track

The Information Technology – Database Management track at GTCC is designed for students who wish to start a career within database technologies, such as a Database Administrator, Database Architect and/or Database Programmer.  In today’s information-driven world having the technical skills to store, manage, and secure data is vital to the success of many businesses, not just a competitive advantage.  This degree focuses on how to effectively develop, manipulate, manage, and secure a database management system. You will gain exposure to Microsoft and Oracle database systems. In addition, you will utilize the Structured Query Language (SQL) to manipulate databases and develop front-end applications and websites that connect to databases.

No. All software needed to complete this degree are free to students. You will learn to use several professional computer software applications during the completion of this degree. These are the standard used in the industry.

You will need a PC running the Windows operating system. An Apple brand computer running the MacOS operating system may not support some the software you are required to use.  If using a Mac, please ensure you can dual boot to Windows or use a virtualization application (such as Virtual Box, VMware, Parallels, etc.) for Windows applications.
