Tutors are professionals with proven expertise in their fields or GTCC students who have made excellent grades in the courses they tutor.

Peer tutors are available for a variety of career and technical courses, like aerospace and flight training, advertising/graphic design, dental hygiene, drafting, early childhood education, and radiography. To request one, please email us at [email protected].

  • Assignment instructions,
  • Textbooks and/or other resources, like sources to write a paper,
  • Calculator, if needed,
  • Work you’ve completed so far,
  • Work you’ve completed for previous assignments in the course, if any.

Your tutor will answer your questions, help you study, give you feedback, and keep you engaged. You may work with the tutor in a group if there are others from the same course who need help, and you may have to wait for a tutor during peak times. We recommend you get tutoring early and often, and take breaks as you work. We don’t help with graded quizzes, tests, or exams.

Our tutoring centers are open for drop-in support and appointments in a limited number of subject areas. Please visit our Canvas page to view subjects and hours.

GTCC students also have access to 5 hours per semester of live chat tutoring and document review through Tutor.com. Access Tutor.com after you log into Canvas. Look for the Tutoring block on the right side of the homepage.

No! In-person tutoring is drop in at all of centers. Not every subject is available during the time when the centers are open. There are appointments for a limited number of content areas during the day. Appointments created in Navigate are required for evening sessions. Appointments are limited to no more than one per day per subject.  Learn more on our Canvas page.

GTCC students have five (5) free hours of online tutoring through Tutor.com.  Tutor.com tutoring hours must be used for college classes students are currently taking here at GTCC and cannot be transferred to friends or family members.  In addition, Tutor.com hours cannot be used for high school classes being taken by our Early Middle College students since the Early Middle College provides other resources and tutoring for these classes.

To access Tutor.com, log into Canvas using your GTCC credentials and look for the Tutoring.com: 24/7 Online Tutoring link in the white resource column in your Canvas course. Click on the Tutor.com link to be taken to the service. You can also click this link and enter your Canvas credentials: Tutor.com. Once the Tutor.com page opens, you'll need to put in the topic and subject you need help with, provide details about your assignment or a question you need help with, and click Connect to connect to a live tutor.

Tutor.com also has a paper review service. Tutors won't edit or proofread your work, but they will provide guidance and answer questions.
