Aviation Manufacturing Quick Careers Program (AMQCP): Aircraft Structural Repairs
This three-week course is designed to provide entry-level aircraft structural repair training. The course introduces the fundamentals for common sheet metal structural repair and practices used to assess and restore structure to a serviceable condition. Upon completion, the student should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the various structural repair techniques and applications.
The course will consist of:
- Assessment of damage using ultrasonic thickness gauge and precision instruments.
- Removal of damage.
- Typical repairs include Double, Flush, and Stringer repairs.
- Sheet metal bend calculations.
- The importance of time management.
- Use of tool shop equipment to produce a metal curve or bend.
- Removal of damaged fasteners.
Upon completion, the graduate will be conversant with any typical sheet metal repair employed when restoring an aircraft to its original condition.
Previous sheet metal fabrication experience is highly recommended.

Local business and industry partners to include Honda Aircraft Co., HAECO, Cabin Solutions, and externally Boeing. Typically, several potential employers visit the class prior to graduation and are ready to hire upon completion of the class.
Entry-level employees can make $12-$23 per hour plus benefits.
We have all the tools necessary, and you are not permitted to use any personal tools in class. If you choose aircraft maintenance in lieu of manufacturing as your career path, you may want to consider investing in quality tools. We will provide you with a list of recommended tools.

The traditional face-to-face class is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. The online work requires set goals to be completed at set intervals and permitted to be conducted at any location.
