The GTCC High Point Campus was established in 1981 with 2 buildings and 300 students. Since then the campus has grown to 8 buildings, covering 16 acres and over 200,000 square feet. The campus serves nearly 2,500 students each semester in a number of programs including Adult Basic Education (High School, GED and English as a Second Language), continuing education, and curriculum courses. The High Point Campus curriculum programs include Pharmacy Technology, Human Services Technology, and Simulation and Gaming Design.
The High Point Campus is also home of the Larry Gatlin School of Entertainment Technology, which has a large, state-of-the-art studio, as well as lighting, sound and music labs. The Entertainment Technology Program offers an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Entertainment Technologies with three options: Recording Engineering, Concert Sound and Lighting, and Artist Management. There is also a Music Performance option with an Associate of Fine Arts (AFA). This facility has an attached outdoor amphitheater and a newly built Center for Creative and Performing Arts that houses the GTCC Theatre Program, which is an AFA transfer curriculum.
The Early Middle College at High Point, operated on campus by Guilford County Schools, is considered one of the best high schools in Guilford County with a 100% graduation rate. Middle College students take high school courses, but have access to college credit courses and have the opportunity to graduate with not only a high school diploma, but also an associate degree.
